Messy Room

By Sara Pottebaum

Did a tornado hit this room?!
Wrappers are covering the floor,
From Burger King, McDonalds, and Taco Bell.
What is all over the door?
And who left the Wii on?
There’s black fur on the edge of the bed.
Panties lay in a bright pink hamper, the washer is calling their name.
The bed is showing off a cute, adorable ted.
Jeans of all shades are hung carelessly in corners.
Shiny spots cover the walls from a broken lamp.
A cute, sunny yellow top hangs from a dull gray door knob.
As feet tramp over a towel that seems to be damp,
A musky scent fills the air.
This room is in serious need of a maid!

My Digital Story

Dedicated to my dad

Mother Sonnet

My mother is a great support to me.
She’s sure to listen to my deepest woe
Even though we do not always agree.
I know that I will still forever owe.

I have hurt her heart many times before,
Her heart has seen many days of heartbreak.
But I know her words cannot be ignored,
For if they are, it will cause quite the ache.

She always loves with her entire heart,
Even when she speaks, it’s very polite.
She forgives us when we are not so smart
And will try to avoid starting a fight.

It pays to have her a part of my days!
She fills my life with happiness and praise.
